Chocolate Sauce for Ice Cream

It has been warming up around here lately so the ice cream has started to come out of the freezer a lot. One of the favorite things we love to put on vanilla ice cream is homemade chocolate sauce. So I thought I would share the recipe that I always make so you can try it. It is super easy to make it just takes a little time.
Here are the ingredients you are going to need.
In a saucepan put 1/4 cup butter, 8 Tablespoons of baking cocoa, 2 cups sugar and 1 1/2 cups of milk.
Stir it all together and bring it to a boil.
Then you let it boil and boil.......
and boil until it gets to 220 degrees. It will take about 20-25 minutes It will be a jelly like consistency. Remove from heat and stir in one teaspoon of vanilla.
Cool slightly, drizzle and enjoy!

My mom always made this. Another WONDERFUL thing to do with it is a special breakfast. Tear off pieces of buttered toast and dip like gravy. Yum!
