Sites from the promise land

Last weekend I ran away to the promise land for my birthday weekend. I stopped along the way to take some pictures. The sad thing about it was that it was super over cast and cloudy.  But it is still SO beautiful no matter if it is sunny or cloudy.

My folks live next to the city cemetery and almost every time I go home I go up and walk around. It is always SO peaceful and it is up on the hill so you can see for miles. Beautiful!

The Bradford Pear trees were all bloomed out like crazy which is so early but they were SO beautiful!
On Saturday we drove over to Arkansas and one of the last little towns before we crossed the border there is this adorable school. I have always thought about the memories and lives that have gone through those doors. If the walls could talk there would be so many stories. I love road trips when you can stop and look around a little bit and just soak up your surroundings. It was a little gift to myself because when the kids ride with me they just want to get to where we are going! Pitiful! Ha!

A Little Tour

Natalia works in a salon in the city with a great group of amazing stylists. When she first started working there and they were getting to know her they couldn't believe that she lived and also worked on a diary. They have been wanting to come out and take a little tour so Sunday was the day.
The first comment people almost always make when they see the ladies (cows) is how big they are!

Laura is one of our favorite ladies and she LOVES showing off for visitors. They were even able to prep her for milking.

We finished up with our little tour in the house with some chocolate chip cookies and milk of course. If you would like my chocolate cookie recipe you can find it here Thank you so much ladies for coming out to spend some time on the farm it was so great getting to know you all a little better!

Tiana's 16th Party

We were finally able to have Tiana's Birthday party last weekend with her friends. We had a total of 8 sweet young ladies stay for the night.

Let's just say the basement looked like a bomb went off. Ha!!

The next morning we cooked them brunch and then I loaded them up and headed to the city for some ice skating.

Most of these girlies had never skated before but they got the hang of it super quick.

Afterwards we hit the Starbucks and then headed home. The party wrapped up with grilled hamburgers and Tiana opening her gifts. She was truly blessed by them. It was a great weekend. So thankful my kiddos have been blessed with such amazing friends! Love them!

Gone Country Crafts

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to hang out with one of my remarkable and talent friends, Rona when I went to the promise land (Oklahoma). I met her a couple of years ago at a craft fair and we became friends. She is the owner of "Gone Country Crafts" and her skills are amazing.

When I went down for mom's birthday it worked out for me to stop by for a visit.

Her house is like walking through a Pinterest Pictures SO adorable!

See I told you SO adorable!
This is her studio where she creates her magic but she wouldn't let me go in because she said it was to messy. I say "Creative minds are rarely Tidy!" Ha! Thank you SO much Rona for a fun visit it was so great to hug your neck and hang out with you. I hope to do it again soon. Go on Facebook and like her page at "Gone Country Crafts" so you can keep up with where she will be next.
