14 Years, Over 60 Movies

Sally and I have been friends since college. Our dorm rooms were 2 doors down from each other and neither one of us had roommates so we became each others roommates in a sense. I was there when her and Brad were dating and she was there when I met the Milkman. We were at each others weddings and have been super close all these years. About 15 years ago they moved within 30 minutes of where I live and we decided that once a month we would meet in the town between us for a movie night. For 14 years we have gone to the movies together. But we have never ever been every month of the year until this year. We decided way back in January that we would have a goal of going  every single month and not missing 1 month this entire year. It has been tricky some months as there are always kiddos' activities,  stuff that happens on the farm, vacations (her not me Ha!) and everything in between. But last night we finally did it! 12 movies in 12 months!! We were discussing how many movies we have seen over the years and it is something like 60. We usually are the only 2 in the whole theater  which is A-mazing! But, sometimes we aren't and we have been known to get into trouble talking a little to loudly throughout the movie. Eeekkk! We have seen some great movies and some movies we have left just shaking our heads! It isn't always about the movie though it is about getting together and laughing, crying and the visits. Sally, I am SO grateful for your friendship all these years. And I was so grateful for your sweet text last night after I arrived home she sent me this.....
"Kerry...this friendship that we have is dependable, trustworthy, hilarious, sweet & good! I wouldn't have it any other way!! Love you so much!! And as the credits roll... I'll see ya at the movies....Your a star!" Awww Sally thank you so much for being my VERY good friend. I love you so much and look forward to our barrel of popcorn, junior mints and milk duds in a few weeks.

2 Nights 2 Concerts

Monday and Tuesday nights we had the high school Christmas concert for Tiana and the elementary concert for Kyler. They both were really well done.

While the show choir sang the other kiddos watched and they all looked so excited didn't they? Ha! Tiana is the 4th kiddo over on the top row. She looks a little tired, early basketball practice every morning does that to a girl.
The band featured a saxophone trio and they did an awesome job!

Night 2 was all about Kyler and the elementary kiddos.

They all were SO cute and sang soooo good. The teachers did an amazing job and the kiddos worked so hard. It was a great couple of nights. Love to hear children singing Christmas carols.

Part 2 Happy 40th Nikki

Nikki's husband and our tribe sister Birdie (far left in the red scarf) did an awesome job at pulling off the surprise birthday dinner. What Nikki didn't know was that dinner was just the beginning of the night. Dirk had taken care of everything for us including a night's stay in a townhouse, a 2 hour limo ride to look at Christmas lights and all the snacks you could dream of. It was A-mazing and something this farm girl NEVER gets to do.

We stayed up way to late laughing and talking and we crammed a bunch of sisters in one bed. It was such a great night. I kept telling Nikki thank you so much for being born. Ha! Nikki I'm so grateful God brought you into my life and that we aren't only friends but we are sisters. I know your 40th birthday was beyond awesome and I can't wait to see how God blesses you in your 40th year. Love you so much!

Surprise 40th for Nikki

So this weekend was one of my good friends and tribe sister Nikki's 40th Birthday. Her husband started planning for her surprise way back in the middle of October. He along with our other tribe sister Birdie pulled it off with her never suspecting a thing. It was Priceless!!

Although all of the tribe wasn't together we kept them close by sending them pictures and even face timing one of them that was in New York City for the weekend and couldn't be with us.

Supper and presents were just the beginning of the night. What Nikki didn't now is that Dirk planned for the tribe to have the whole night to be together but you will have to come back tomorrow to see what all was in store for us.....such a great night!

#32 and a Little Basketball

Remington kicked off tournament week with wins. Yay! The girls did an awesome job and we of course are a little partial of #32 Tiana. She is playing point guard this year and we are so proud of her and the Lady Broncos. Bring on the season!

Biscuit Recipe

I try to make the kiddos a hot breakfast in the mornings before school. Not that it happens everyday but I try at least a couple of times a week. One of their favorites is biscuits and gravy. Growing up in the promise land of Oklahoma this was something we ate often. So yummy! Here is a simple spoon biscuit recipe I thought I would share with you. Below are the ingredients.
Add in a bowl 2 cups of flour, 2 Tablespoons of Sugar, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon cream of tarter and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Then you are going to cut in 1/2 cup of shortening.
Cut the shortening with a pastry cutter until it looks like this.
Then add 2/3 cups of milk and 1 egg. The reason it shows 2 eggs in the picture is because I always double my batch. There is a lot of people up in here. Ha!
 Mix it all together
Since the dough is sticky I use 2 spoons to dish it out onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake in a 450 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
Eat them plain or spoon gravy over it and there you have it. Super simple, super De-lish! Enjoy!
