Career Week

Last week Quintin and I (the milkman had something else come up on the farm and couldn't come) went and talked to Ky's kindergarten class for career week.
Quintin did an awesome job explaining to the kiddos about what cows eat and how much they drink. Did you know that a cow drinks about a bath tub full of water everyday? That is a lot of water.
He also showed the kiddos a milker and explained how they are used.
It was so great how the kids interacted by asking questions, you could totally see their wheels turning in their heads.

I talked to them about how nutritious milk is compared to sodas or sports drinks. Did you know that there are 16 teaspoons of sugar in a bottle of coke? Crazy!

We finished off our time with giving everyone a sticker that said "I met a Dairy Farmer" and a goodie bag filled with fun stuff to do at home. It was a great time and it was fun to share with the kiddos what all it takes to get the milk they drink. Thank you Mrs. Friesen for the opportunity!
