State Cross Country, 6th Place!

A week ago we went to cheer our friend's daughter Sienna on at the state cross country meet. Now I am NOT a runner and I am always so amazed by someone that is. All of the hard work that goes into any sport always blows me away but there is something about someone that can run long distances that I can't wrap my head around. Sienna does such a great job and we were so excited to be able to be there.

She warmed up for like seemed forever running up and down the hill. I kept thinking to myself she better stop or she is going to be worn out for the actual race. Or maybe she was wearing me out by watching her. Ha!
Then all of the girls lined up and they took off.

We cheered her on loud and proud. She was in 12th place going up a steep hill and when she rounded the top of that steep hill she was in 6th place!!!!!!

She held her position all the way to the finish line.

Congrats Sienna we are SO proud of you and all of your hard work. You are such a great athlete your work ethic is amazing and you are such a light in all you say and do.

Thank you to whomever posted this running account of Sienna's cross-country victory! It made us feel like we "kind of" were there to watch the excitement. We are so proud of Sienna. She is a great athlete, but even beyond that, we are so thankful for her character and perseverance. We are pleased to be called one of her G'pa's & G'ma's!
