Courtney's Bridal Shower

About 10 years ago when I met Courtney and her family and Kendall and his family I wouldn't have thought that they would be engaged and about to be husband and wife. But God knew it and so He brought them together and on Sunday we celebrated with Courtney at her bridal shower.
Courtney has been blessed with an amazing mama and she is about to gain a second amazing mama! Denise and Wendy, I can't imagine (although I'm know some day I will) what it must be like to watch your oldest babies grow up into amazing adults and prepare for a life together. I would be freaking out but you both seem to handle it with so much grace!

They kicked off the party playing a couple of games. The first one was SO much fun. You were divided up by tables and the hostesses told us to get our purses ready. They would say an items and you had to find it in your purse and whatever the item was it would received a point value. For example for every lip stick, chapstick or gloss that you had in your purse your team received 5 points. See I knew having a bunch of girls would come in handy! This is how many lipsticks I pulled out of my purse!! Ha!
Our table won! Yay! I'm sure it had to do with all of the lipsticks. No, really it had to do with that I had the mamas on my team and they had a numbers of items that others didn't. Like actual photos of Courtney in their purse.

Courtney's sister Kayla also played a game with her of "how well do you know Kendall"? She did really well, some of the questions I had to think if I would have gotten right about the milkman and I have been married to him for 22 years!
After the games we enjoyed some most de-lish snacks, her mentor and good friend gave a very touching devotional. They finished up the party opening some great gifts.

We also had a great time of visiting. It was so good to get caught up with friends I haven't seen for awhile.

And of course as my friends and I will tell you no party is complete until you bring out the selfie stick! Right? Ha! It was a great afternoon. Courtney and Kendall I look forward to seeing how God is going to use your lives for His honor and glory. Let me just tell you now coming from an "old married lady", marriage is one of the hardest things you will ever do. I know it is hard to believe that right now with all of the hearts and birds chirping. But, it is! You will want to give up at some point but just know that God brought you together for His honor and glory. And on the days when you want to pack it up think back to these days where you knew this was His plan, forgive each other as God has forgiven you and love each as only you 2 can. Congrats Courtney and Kendall we are so looking forward to celebrating your big day soon!
