Thank you Pinterest! How many of you are on Pinterest? I say it is a drug for us people that aren't crafty or can't figure out what to make for supper. I LOVE it! I found this recipe on there the other day and had all of the ingredients in my pantry it sounded easy enough so I gave it a shot. It was a HUGE success in fact the kiddos and the milkman said it tasted better than a restaurant. It was delish! Here is what you do.
Put 2 eggs in a bowl and beat them and in another bowl put 1 cup of cornstarch. Dredge the chicken first through the eggs and then the cornstarch.
Fry it in a pan until golden brown (the chicken doesn't have to be cook all the way through because you will finish this off in the oven with the sauce) Put the chicken in a baking 9x13 dish. For the sauce you will need
3/4 cup sugar
4 T. ketchup
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 T. soy sauce
1 t. garlic salt
Whisk this all together and pour on top of the chicken stiring carefully to coat both sides
Bake in the oven on 350 degrees for 30 minutes stiring once half way through the bake time.
Oh I hope I have chicken in my freezer so I can try this recipe...yum!
ReplyDeleteI made it today and it was yummy! I did it in an electric wok so I didn't bake it, just put the lid on and cooked for 20 minutes. I also added carrots and broccoli about 10-15 minutes before it finished cooking, so we had veggies with the meal. Being from Mexico, we needed a bit more zing, so I added 1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes and grated in some fresh ginger. Nice! Thanks for the recipe.
