It is so nice to have time to just to scrapbook without anyone yelling MOM!!! It was also so nice to be able to spend the day with my mom and sister in laws Lorene and Marlene. Its always good to be with a bunch of fun women. The milkman calls these times "a cackle fest", and he is right!!! I got 18 pages done and I had such an relaxing and fun day!

Mom's Birthday

My folks were here this weekend. Since I couldn't be there on her actual birthday which was earlier in the week, we celebrated it on Friday night. The milkman made his famous Mexican cuisine. He is an awesome cook!!!!! His salsa is to die for! So de-lish! Mom loves my chocolate mocha cupcakes so of course I made some for dessert.I was so thankful that they were able to come up and spend some time with us. Kyler loves her Gramps and I think it is so neat that even though we don't see my folks all the time she still remembers them and gets so excited when they come. Happy Birthday Mom I hope you have a very blessed year. I love you both so much!!

Coconut Cream Pie

So, last week at the rehearsal dinner there was all these yummy homemade pies. The kids helped us serve and Kenton had been eyeing the coconut cream all night. When it was our turn to eat there was only a few crumbs at the bottom of the pan. He was so disappointed that I told him for working so hard I would make one this week. So, one day when he came home from school and was looking for a snack I said check the fridge. He was so excited!! I hope you have a little slice of your own happiness this weekend!!

Breakfast in Bed

On Sundays the milkman chores and then comes back in the house and takes a nap because our church doesn't start until 9:30. When you get done with your morning chores at 7:15 to 7:30AM then you NEED a morning nap so you don't fall asleep in church! Last Sunday Tiana had a friend over Kaete. We were told not to come in the kitchen but to stay in bed. (nobody EVER tells a mother that and you don't have to tell me twice!!!) A little while later they came in with quite the spread, is it beautiful or what!!! It was so yummy! What a treat! Thanks Tiana and Kaete for making our morning so special you two will have to get together more often!!!

So, after the wedding a few of us that were there decided we needed a girl's night out. We hit the big city for some yummy supper and then we walked around the shopping plaza. We topped the evening off with some truffles, gelato and coffee of course. They were incredible! I'm not even kidding you right now! Its so fun to just talk about girl things. Thanks ladies for making the evening a blast.

This was some of our dishes we had. Its also so much better when you don't have to cook it!

A Threat

Yesterday I was going about my business at home you know cleaning, laundry, diaper changing, toy picking up etc. etc. and I get a call that there has been a bomb threat at my daughter's middle school. WHAT??? We live in Po dunkville USA really!!! The kids were of course evacuated to the church basement down the block. Tiana's teacher called and explained the situation to me that the authorities had been called the children were safe but they wanted parents to come and pick up the kids. My friend Darcy came at the same time to pick up her son Joey, they were very strict about the kids only being signed out by their parents. Which I was thankful how they handled everything. They searched for hours and they even had the dogs come in to try and sniff out anything but thankfully they never found anything. The school staff and teachers did a excellent job. Tiana was very shook up, but we talked it through, she is a little nervous about going back to school today but I told her God will be with her and I will be praying for her especially today.

Overnight Breakfast Casserole

I have made this recipe for years, its so easy and I love anything I can make the night before and all I have to do is pop it in the oven. Here are the ingredients.

  • 1 lb. of bulk sausage

  • 2 1/4 cups of milk

  • 10 eggs

  • 1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese

  • 6 slices of bread cubes

Fry the sausage up. Combine milk, eggs, mustard and salt. Beat one minute. Add meat, cheese and bread. Pour mixture into 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. May be made ahead and refrigerated. Bake an extra 10 minutes if taken cold out of the refrigerator. It is de-lish!! Watch it disapper! Have a great Wednesday!!
