A Practical Joke

Upon returning from our trip to the promise land on Sunday night, we hit the garage door button only to reveal our green tractor. Owen and Kim our two young people that work for us decided to play a practical joke on the milkman!! The milkman said "I guess I didn't give them enough to do while we were gone ha! ha!."Thanks Owen and Kim that was funny!! Thanks for working the weekend so the milkman could have some down time with his family.

Black Friday!!

Well, we did it we went out shopping on Black Friday!! I have done it for years but this is the second year that I have taken some of the kids with me. We had a blast but they couldn't hold up like their momma that is for sure. We left at 9:15pm Thanksgiving night I have never done that before, I usually get some sleep but not this year. I took all these pics on my iphone so they aren't the best quality. Kenton had been saving his money so that he could purchase some tools at Lowe's. This is us standing in line at 4:40 they opened at 5!!I drink ALOT of starbucks!!!!! ALOT!!!
This is what the car looked like on the way home. Everyone passed out!!Don't you love teenagers?? Even tho she is sleeping she still has that cell phone ready in case she might get an important call!!!This is the time that we pulled into the garage. Thats right we pulled an all nighter!! It was so fun! I was so tired but I got so much accomplished which was my goal. Did you make it out on Black Friday if so what was your best bargin??

Thanksgiving #2

For our second Thanksgiving dinner we traveled to the promise land (that is Oklahoma in case you didn't know) to my folk's house. My folks had 3 tables set up because there was so many of us there were people everywhere. I have have always said it is never a dull moment when we all get together!!This is my Pa-paw isn't he cute!! He will be 88 years old in April!!!
Our kids loved having time with their cousins!! And of course there was all kinds of yummy food!! The baby wanted to hold a baby. She thought she was so cool holding the newest member of the family. We had such a great time!!! I'm thankful for the time we were able to get away from the dairy for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving # 1

This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. Well, at least for the milkman's family. We had a great time!! And of course we ate way to much!!Corey thought Grandma needed to try out his hat, I thought it looked very becoming!!We also celebrated November birthdays so after Turkey we had some cake, cards and gifts. Then when all that was done the dishes were put away it was time to get our game on!!! I love this!! We put out all the ads on the table and get busy with our sharpies circling all the great deals and coming up with a game plan for all the great sales on Black Friday. We get them started early around here!!Some other activities that went on were Uncle Phil letting Tiana play salon on him. She probably worked on him for an hour. He was so good to let her "fix" him up. She did it all, make-up and hair and little tiny pony tails all over his head complete with lots and lots of bows. He looked Super Cute when it was all said and done!! Thanks Uncle Phil for being a great sport. All in all it was a great day. I'm so thankful for such a fun family!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Fall is my favorite season and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.

I'm so thankful for so many things, it would take me all day to write it all down well.... at least until 10pm when I start Black Friday shopping!!!  Seriously I'm so thankful for Jesus who died on the cross for me and who guides and protects me everyday, I'm thankful for my milkman and the little family we have been given, for my extended family for all the love, and support they have always given me and I'm thankful to all of you, my friends for making my world so much brighter!! I hope you and yours have a very  blessed Thanksgiving!!

I took these pics with my iphone I couldn't believe how well they came out. Have a great day!!

Some Extra Help

My friend Darcy came into the store earlier in the week to get milk, we started talking  (I know your surprised Ha! Ha!) she asked me how things were going and I said really good but really busy! I told her that I had a big cupcake order (well big for me) 72 that had to be done on Tuesday. So, what does she do....she shows up and helps me all day until they were finished. I was so grateful! I would have NEVER  gotten done so quickly. Thats just how she is!! If something needs to be done you can always count on Darc to jump in with both feet!! Thanks so much!!!! I am so grateful to have a friend like you!!

Pumpkin Pie

So last weekend I decided it was time to take all the pumpkin decoration down to get ready for Christmas and I didn't think the pumpkins would last much longer. Since it is  Thanksgiving on Thursday I thought I might as well cook them down and make some pies. It is super simple just takes a little time. I will tell you how.

Step #1 Cut the pumpkin up in big chunks, it doesn't have to be pretty and you don't even have to pull out the seeds, unless you want to make roasted pumpkin seeds, put the pieces in a pot with about 3 cups water at the bottom and cook.

After cooking it until fork tender with a spoon scoop the meat away from the rind and then I put it in a strainer to drain so that the pie isn't as soupy.
Then I put all the ingredients in the blender 2 eggs, 1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice, 1 cup Brown sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 can evaporated milk, and 2 cups pumpkin. Blend it up pour into an unbaked pie crust. Bake at 425 for 15 min. reduce heat to 350, bake another 30 min. or until your knife comes out clean. Cool, then top with REAL whipped cream (which we have here at the dairy of course!!) And enjoy!

Country Girl, City Girl

My Bestie Robin whom I have been friends with since the summer before our freshman year, which will be 30 years next summer (thats right we were 1 year olds when we met HA! The Burns Tour

Yesterday we had our second tour of the week. It was so chilly out so I made a large pot of coffee that was all but drained. We had a great time. They had lots of great questions for the milkman. It kept him on his toes!!Even one of the moms got into the swing in the hay loft! I'm just sorry this one is blurry!
Thanks so much for coming out, braving the cold and hanging out with the milkman! Have a great weekend everyone, stay warm!!
